A note on honesty. TagWipe removes embedded metadata and provenance tags — the C2PA/EXIF/XMP data platforms read to apply an "AI Info" label. It does not remove invisible pixel watermarks (like SynthID) that some generators embed directly in the image; no metadata tool can, because that data isn't metadata.
Use it to clean the data attached to your files — not as a guarantee that an image can never be identified as AI-generated.
Questions
Do my photos ever leave my device?
No. Scanning and cleaning both happen locally using Apple's ImageIO and Photos frameworks. TagWipe has no server that stores or receives your photos — see the full Privacy Policy.
Is cleaning a photo reversible?
Saving a cleaned copy is non-destructive — your original stays untouched. Choosing "replace original" is irreversible: once metadata is removed and the original is deleted, TagWipe cannot recover it. Keep your own backups.
Will this stop a photo from being detected as AI-generated?
It removes the embedded provenance metadata (C2PA/EXIF/XMP) that platforms read to apply an "AI Info" label. It cannot remove invisible pixel watermarks some generators embed in the image itself — see the honesty note above.
