Screenshot Bin

Terms of Use

These supplemental Terms of Use govern your use of Screenshot Bin, including its widget (the "App"), provided by Didactic Initiatives LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). By using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the App.

Your App Store license is governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA). These Terms supplement that agreement. They do not replace it with a custom EULA. If these Terms conflict with the Standard EULA or the applicable Apple Media Services terms and Usage Rules, those Apple terms control. Our Privacy Policy explains how the App handles information.

1. License and ownership

The App is licensed, not sold. Subject to Apple's Standard EULA and Usage Rules, you receive a non-transferable license to use the App on Apple-branded devices that you own or control. We keep ownership of the App and its intellectual property. You may not redistribute, sublicense, or reverse engineer the App, except where applicable law or Apple's Usage Rules permit it.

2. What the App does

The App puts new screenshots from your Photos library in an inbox. You can keep a screenshot, which removes it from the inbox and leaves it in Photos, or trash it. Trashed screenshots wait in Clean Up until you delete or restore them.

With automatic expiry, an inbox screenshot that you do not keep expires after the window you choose: 3, 7, 14, or 30 days. You can also choose Never. Expired screenshots wait in Clean Up for your review. The App never deletes a screenshot only because it expired.

3. Deleting screenshots

Deletion removes photos from your Photos library. Before you confirm, check every screenshot in the group you delete. If you use iCloud Photos, the deletion also applies to your other devices that use the same Apple Account. iOS keeps deleted photos in Recently Deleted for a limited period, usually 30 days. After that period, or after you empty Recently Deleted, recovery depends on your own backups.

The App deletes photos only after you tap Delete and confirm in the iOS dialog. If you cancel the iOS dialog, the App deletes nothing. You are responsible for the screenshots you choose to delete and for your own backups of photos that you want to keep.

Expiry and reminders depend on iOS, which decides when the App can run in the background. A screenshot can expire, or a reminder can arrive, later than the time you expect. Reminders can also be missing if notifications are off.

4. Search, descriptions, and Share Safely

Text recognition, image labels, and sensitive-text detection are automatic and can be incomplete or wrong. Do not rely on them as the only record of important information. Open the original screenshot to check it.

Share Safely makes a redacted copy and leaves the original unchanged. It can miss private information or cover text that you wanted to show. Check the full preview before you share. You choose the recipient, and you are responsible for the content that you share.

5. Your content and acceptable use

You keep all rights to your screenshots. We do not receive them. Your screenshots can contain information about other people. Use the App only with content that you may lawfully access, store, modify, and share. Do not use the App to infringe another person's rights, to share private information without permission, or to break the law.

6. Free trial and full unlock

The App gives you all features free for 14 days from when you start the free trial. You start it with a $0 in-app purchase, the 14-day Trial, through the App Store. The trial is free and does not change into a paid purchase. Before and after the trial, these features are free: the inbox, Keep, Trash, deletion of trashed screenshots in Clean Up, Kept, and Search.

A one-time purchase, the Screenshot Bin Full Unlock, permanently turns on automatic expiry, reminders, Share Safely, and the widget count. It is not a subscription. The App and Apple's purchase confirmation show the price and currency before you buy. Availability and prices can be different in each storefront.

The trial starts on the original purchase date that the App Store records for the 14-day Trial. Deleting and reinstalling the App does not start a new trial. The full unlock covers the features that it includes at the time of purchase for as long as we make the App available. It is not a promise that the App or any Apple service will operate forever.

7. Apple services and compatibility

The App depends on iOS, the Photos app, iCloud Photos, and the App Store. Apple operates these services independently of us, and their terms apply to them. Updates to iOS or Apple services can change or stop App features. Subject to applicable law and your purchase rights, we may update, change, or discontinue features.

8. Warranties

TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." WE DISCLAIM IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT TEXT RECOGNITION, DESCRIPTIONS, OR REDACTION WILL BE COMPLETE OR ACCURATE, THAT EXPIRY OR REMINDERS WILL OCCUR AT A SPECIFIC TIME, OR THAT THE APP WILL BE ERROR-FREE.

We, not Apple, are responsible for warranties that the law does not let us disclaim. If the App fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the App, if any. To the extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the App. Other claims, losses, costs, and damages caused by a failure to conform to a warranty are our responsibility.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE AND OUR MEMBERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM THE APP OR THESE TERMS. THIS INCLUDES LOST PROFITS, LOSS OF PHOTOS OR OTHER DATA, LOSSES FROM SCREENSHOTS THAT YOU CONFIRMED FOR DELETION, AND LOSSES FROM INFORMATION THAT SHARE SAFELY DID NOT COVER, EVEN IF WE WERE TOLD THAT SUCH LOSSES COULD OCCUR.

SUBJECT TO APPLE'S STANDARD EULA AND APPLICABLE LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM THE APP OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF FIFTY U.S. DOLLARS ($50) OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP AND ITS IN-APP PURCHASES DURING THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT THAT CAUSED THE CLAIM. These limits apply to all legal theories, including contract and negligence, to the extent the law allows them.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability or consumer remedy that the law does not let us exclude or limit.

10. Claims caused by prohibited use

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify Didactic Initiatives LLC and its members, officers, employees, and agents against third-party claims and reasonable defense costs caused directly by your unlawful use of the App, your infringement of another person's rights, or your material breach of these Terms. This does not cover claims caused by our own negligence, wrongdoing, or breach of law, and it does not limit consumer rights that cannot be waived. We will give you reasonable notice of a claim and a chance to take part in its defense. No settlement may impose an admission or obligation on you without your consent.

11. Maintenance, support, and product claims

This agreement is between you and us, not Apple. We are responsible for the App and its content, for the maintenance and support that we offer or that the law requires, and for product liability, regulatory, consumer protection, and privacy claims about the App. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App.

If a third party claims that the App or your use of it infringes their intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of that claim, subject to applicable law.

12. Apple and legal compliance

Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of the App license and may enforce it against you as described in Apple's Standard EULA. Nothing in these Terms reduces Apple's rights under that agreement.

You represent that you are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. government embargo or that the U.S. government designates as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on a U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

13. Termination

You can stop using the App at any time. Your license can end as described in Apple's Standard EULA if you violate its terms. After termination, stop using and delete the App. The sections about ownership, deletion, warranties, liability, and governing law continue to apply where relevant.

14. Governing law and your consumer rights

California law, excluding its conflict-of-laws rules, governs these supplemental Terms. Subject to mandatory consumer protections and any governing law or forum that Apple's Standard EULA requires, disputes about these Terms may be brought in the state or federal courts in Los Angeles County, California. If the law where you live gives you mandatory protections or the right to bring proceedings locally, you keep those rights. These Terms do not require arbitration and do not waive statutory consumer rights.

If a provision is unenforceable, the other provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms when the App or legal requirements change. We will publish the revised version at this URL with a new effective date and give any other notice or get any consent that the law requires. Changes apply from their effective date and do not reduce rights or remedies that you already have, including for the full unlock.
